IN THEIR OWN WORDS
HEAR FROM FAMILIES
“The financial and emotional support in addition to friendship from the foundation have helped in both the physical and emotional healing of our family throughout the years.”
Paysen, Age 3: Glioma
Our son was diagnosed with brain cancer in April of 2022. Because of this we had to drop down to a one income household which made it extremely hard on us financially. Due to the help we have received from the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation it has taken a huge weight off of our shoulders and made it possible for us to pay or bills and care for our family with little financial stress. Kate and her husband have been amazing to work with and we can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for our family!
Eli, Age 8: Leukemia
"Being a parent is challenging, even in the best of circumstances. Parenting and caring for a child with cancer is arguably one of the most difficult situations a family can face; especially in a situation like ours when Eli's treatment protocol for T-Cell ALL is three and a half years long. With nearly three years of treatment completed, our family is weary; and the support we have received from the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation cannot be understated. As treatment has progressed and worn on, our finances, emotional reserves, and mental health have taken considerable tolls on everyone in our family. The financial assistance we have received in a continued, ongoing basis, has allowed an immeasurable amount of stress, pressure, and worry to be alleviated. This has allowed us to be better parents; more focused and present for Eli and our daughter Evie. I wholeheartedly believe that this will continue to impact generations to come, and hopefully not pass on the trauma of childhood cancer. The financial and emotional support in addition to friendship from the foundation have helped in both the physical and emotional healing of our family throughout the years."
Deklin, Age 7: Ewings Sarcoma
“Deklin was diagnosed in the fall of 2021 with Ewings Sarcoma. The Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation has been such a blessing to our family. They have reached out and helped when we needed it the most. From school tuition for Deklin, to new clothes, to flights to and from Colorado for his best friend to come visit while doing radiation—I cannot express how much of a financial burden this took off of us so we could focus on Deklin and his treatments. Without the foundation, we would not have been able to be there and support Deklin with the care and love he needed and continues to need. This foundation has had a HUGE impact on our family and we are so grateful. Thank you!”
Kaysen, Age 5: Leukemia
“Kaysen was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL at 3 years old. When we heard the words, "It's cancer", we knew we had a long road ahead of us. Kaysen's dad and I didn't work for almost 3 months while he began treatments and traveling for treatments. Since then, I haven't worked and the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation really helped relieve that financial burden for us. They have been such a blessing to our family and to many other families around the state battling pediatric cancer.”
Donna, Age 5: Leukemia
“The Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation was a huge blessing to our family during the most difficult time in our family’s lives. Our social worker told us about the Montana Pediatric Cancer foundation and we were hesitant at first to share our financial information with a stranger, but realized we would be needing help so we applied. Our first email from Kate was an unbelievable shock. The fact that someone who didn’t know us would help our family in such a huge way relieved so much stress from our situation. We still had our daughter's health and strength to worry about but the dark cloud of impending debt was removed. We are so grateful to the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation for everything they have done and continues to do for our family in this trying time. God works through this foundation and so many families are blessed because of all of your donations. Thank you.”
Remidi, Age 4: Glioma
“I am so grateful for this program. If it was not for them and all the beautiful souls that donate to the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation, I wouldn’t be able to put food on the table, pay bills, drive Remidi to her oncologist, pay for doctor visits or her medication. I could go on and on about the wonderful things this program has done for me and my girls but I think you get it. So thank you from all of my heart to those who donate to this Godsend nonprofit.”
La’Monte, Age 2: Leukemia
“Pediatric cancer is not something our family ever dreamed of having to deal with. Hearing that your child has cancer is gut wrenching. Not only has cancer affected our child, but it has also affected our jobs as well and has financially burdened us. We had to spend 10.5 months in Colorado due to La’Monte having +Philadelphia B-Cell ALL. We didn’t know how we were going to survive being there and then having to still pay bills in Montana. With the help of the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation, they have taken the financial burden off of us. We can’t thank them enough for their generosity and kindness through this tough journey we are going through.”
Paige, Age 5: Leukemia
“Paige was diagnosed in February of 2022 when she was 4 years old. She and mom Amy were flown in a helicopter from Anaconda to Kalispell where she was treated right away with blood transfusions before starting her chemotherapy. The whole family spent two months in Kalispell living in hospital housing. Paige is now in the final and longest stage of her treatment called maintenance. This stage will last and finally end in April 2024. We will still have to go to doctors appointments once a month to for blood draws and every three months to Kalispell for treatment until April 2024. The Montana Children's Hospital in Kalispell has been fantastic at making us feel confident and comfortable with the experience. We appreciate all the help that the Montana Pediatric Cancer Foundation has done to help us financially, so we can focus on getting Paige better.”
